
Finally i came across this spiceworks post and this solved my issue. Googled it for a while and tried a few suggested solutions to no avail.

I was able to install every other update except that one.

Found the 800F0922 error code in the event viewer for (KB3000850). So I just selected a smaller group of updates next time and those all were successful. I didn't think much of it, as this can happen when you are installing hundreds of update at one time. Had the 3rd or 4th round of windows updates fail. The VM guest also had 2012R2 installed as a Gen 2. I built out a brand new VM on a Hyper-V 2012R2 Host. Just wanted to post my experience and say thanks to the OP. It is only necessary for the BitLocker component to be present on Window Server 2012 when you install security update 2871690.Ī fix for the installer issue is being investigated.
